Struggling with infertility is one of the most difficult situations I've ever faced in my life, it tore me apart as a woman and I will never forget my experience.

My husband and I started trying to get pregnant on our wedding night in May 2004. We thought that it would be easy and that we would get pregnant right away. Both my husband and I were starting to get frustrated and concerned when 6 months later, I still wasn't pregnant. Finally, on February 2005, I received the news that I had been waiting for. Sadly, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. This crushed me and I fell into a deep depression. I became obsessed with getting pregnant again and in the process, I became angry, depressed and lost. I felt like I was a failure as a woman and a failure to my husband.

After doing a huge amount of research, I came across the book "The Infertility Cure" and was immediately intrigued. I started looking for an acupuncturist that would suit my needs. Angela Fingler's name was passed along to me through another acupuncturist that had heard good things about her practise. I made an appointment in January of 2006. At that point in my life, I was desperate to have a child of my own. I was in a deep depression and wasn't very hopeful about anything helping us.

My first meeting with Angela was unlike anything I had ever experienced in my life. She made me feel so at ease with the siuation. She asked very detailed questions about my cycle, and my eating habits and my lifestyle. At the end of the "interview" portion of the first appointment, I received my first treatment. I left Angela's office feeling relaxed and happier thaan I had felt in months.

Over the next 6 months, I continued to see Angela on a regular basis. She improved my very painful and long cycles after on a few sessions. I saw great progress, not only in my cycles, but in my general health and my outlook on life. My depression was lifting and I was feeling better about the process.

In June of 2006, my husband and I went for our appointment at the fertility clinic. I received an HSG procedure and subsequently became pregnant that cycle. My husband and I were overjoyed. I contribute a lot of our success to Angela and the treatments I was receiving.

I saw Angela until I was 13 weeks pregnant. She was a blessing to me because she calmed my nerves and fears of losing another pregnancy. She has an amazing "bedside manner" with clients that puts you totally at ease in her care.

My daughter was born April 2, 2007 and it was the best day of my life.

A year or so later, my husband and I decided it was time to try again. But this time, my cycles were completely all over the map due to breastfeeding and hormonal changes. I decided to be proactive and see Angela right away. Within 2 or 3 treatments, I could already see an imiprovement in my cycle. This time around, baby #2 was conceived on the first try, without complications. I contribute that to Angela and having her help me get my cycles in order.

I have recommended Angela to my family, my friends and to people that I've come in contact with that have fertility issues. I have the utmost respect for her as a person and as a practitioner. I beleive she is invaluable to couples that suffer from infertility.

I have been a patient of Dr. Angela Fingler for over a year. I found her from an excellent referral and soon realized that she was very well respected and other people were referring me to her also. I believe in going directly to the best in their field and there is no doubt in my mind that is exactly what I got with Dr. Fingler. Her manner is very understanding and comforting; she is extremely knowledgeable and gave me the straight goods on what to do to be successful. When you need health care and assistance, it can be a very emotional time. It never ceased to amaze me how relaxed, comfortable and happy I felt after each session. The combination of physiotherapy, acupuncture and herbal medicine has given me a good feeling of well-being and has been healing for aging muscles. My husband had a hip replacement this spring with two or three acupuncture sessions prior to the surgery. The surgery was very successful and the nurses claimed he was the first patient they ever had with zero post-surgery pain.

I found relief in massage therapy to help treat lower back and hip pain during the second and third trimester of my pregnancy. Heather's technique accommodated my ever changing body and I appreciated her explanations about the muscles and ligaments that were involved.

I came to the clinic after repeated visits to the chiropractor, physical therapy, and doctor with minimal relief. I was suffering for almost a year. After one visit with Angie and treatment of acupuncture, I felt considerably better. With the addition of massage with Heather, my body was feeling significantly better. I had more energy and could do everyday activities without pain. However, I received 100% relief when I had two treatments of IMS! Although IMS admittedly was somewhat painful, the relief afterwards was worth it all. I would recommend anyone with chronic muscle aches/pains to try the combination of acupuncture/massage/IMS. I was speaking to a friend I had not seen in a long time at a dinner party and we were talking health. I told her my immune system was in deep trouble and she said she knew someone who could help. I came at the beginning of my second pregnancy. I had terrible morning sickness with my first pregnancy and the second was the same. Acupuncture helped me a great deal. I went from being bed-ridden and vomiting consistently, to actually being able to function. Although the nausea did not completely go away, it was under control and for that I am very grateful!

Life is busy with a growing business and children. Kim understands and supports the need to maintain my energy with acupuncture. The massage therapists pay attention to the shoulder, back and neck problems that come from being both a "desk jockey" and a "weekend warrior". When I was very small I was told I had asthma and a very weak respiratory system. Every time I caught a cold it would go into my chest (lungs) and I would end up with bronchitis or pneumonia. I missed a lot of school, hockey and basketball because I was always getting sick. Our family doctor would put me on antibiotics and I would feel better in two days but as soon as I was finished them I would start feeling sick and usually within a month it would start all over again. The last three years have been the worst. I have been sick with pneumonia, mono and ear and sinus infections. Last March I missed a full month of school. My Mom asked me to please try cupping and acupuncture as we had already tried herbs and hands-on-healing, Reiki and homeopathy. I was so sick I said I’d try anything. Since I’ve been having treatments I feel better, have more energy and have not been sick again.

My acupuncture experience has been excellent. Kim Bowie is very professional in her approach and treatment and continually gives the patient the opportunity to express how the treatment is going. Kim has been working on my feet (for which I have been wearing orthotics for seven years with little improvement). After 30 years of nursing I had fallen arches, plantar fascitis, neuromas between my toes and arthritis in the joints. After a few treatments, I definitely felt relief from the pain and continue to improve. I would recommend Kim Bowie to anyone, and already have!

A few years back, I was having some real problems with the loss of feeling and strength in my left hand. As I was part-time guitarist, these kept me from being able to pursue a love of music. I went to my regular physician, and was recommended to a physiotherapist. He was quite competent, but unable to solve the problems I had. The problems persisted despite many visits and a lot of home therapy. I was frustrated. One of my very good friends recommended acupuncture to me as a possible solution. Kim Bowie was highly recommended. I visited her, received an initial diagnosis and went in to get poked with this strange new therapy (to me at least). After the first visit, I regained 85-90% mobility and strength in my left hand. I went back for two additional visits, after which I had almost totally resumed the mobility, strength and tactile touch in my left hand. I'm a fan and I'll tell anyone that acupuncture is not only a viable but a first line of therapy in many cases that modern day "Western" medicine is simply unable to deal with.

Last fall I visited Kim with a nagging hip pain. I have not looked back since except to wonder at the changes! Soon the hip started to behave. But we did not stop there. I wanted to be treated as a whole person, not a sum of symptoms and pains. Kim was wonderful, adjusting the treatment to the quirks of my body and mind. Gone are endless nights of insomnia and frustrating exhaustion. I can truly say that I have not felt better in, hum...ever! The clinic is a wonderfully calm and happy place with a touch of the outdoors with the live plants and fountains. I have found all the staff there to be friendly, helpful and encouraging. I always look forward to a visit with these wonderful people. Professionals they are, but warm and caring too. I am looking forward to many more years of cooperation with them all.
